As I was setting up my home office, I went on a hunt for a cute mouse pad (because my mouse wouldn’t work without one.) As I searched around, I had a hard time finding one that fit my needs while still being affordable. So of course I decided to make my own … because that’s how I roll!
This DIY mouse pad is quick, easy, and affordable! You probably have most of the supplies sitting around your house. So if you are looking to add a little extra sass to your office, you should give this project a try! Come on … you know you want too!
Quick & Easy DIY Mouse Pad
- Mouse pad (old or new)
- Fabric of choice
- Mod Podge
- Fray Check Sealant
- Paint brush or foam brush
- Fabric scissors
Start by applying a large amount of Mod Podge to the top of your mouse pad. Get aggressive with it and make sure to get all the way to the edges.
Next, place the fabric onto the Mod Podge. You can do this a variety of ways. What I did was lay the fabric upside down on a flat surface and press the mouse pad onto the fabric very firmly. Then I flipped it over and made sure there were no air bubbles and that the pattern was laying correctly.
Once the Mod Podge is dry, carefully trim around the mouse pad to remove any extra fabric.
After it is trimmed to your liking and looking all swanky, take some fray check and go around each edge. This will prevent the edges from fraying.
Now, let it dry completely, place it on your desk, and BOOM! You’re done. See how easy that was?!
I hope you found this DIY helpful and try it out. Please let me know if you do!
